Website for Blue Cat Clothing

Abi is a dressmaker in Edinburgh who specialises in bridal and occasion wear, tweeds and millinary.  She also teaches dressmaking classes.

Abi was looking for a website to showcase her work and give potential customers a mechanism for getting in touch.  She also wanted to advertise the classes she teaches at an Edinburgh fabric store.

www.bluecatclothing.com

From the initial discussion through the whole process, Glenda has been patient and understood the needs I required to promote my business. With a muddle of images and text to deal with, she has designed me a wonderful website, easy to navigate, eyecatching and concise. Also enabling me to update images and text as my work evolves.

I am so grateful for all the design work involved and would be delighted to highly recommend Glendrian.

Many thanks, Abi

Blue Cat Clothing

Her website name, Blue Cat Clothing was the starting point for the blue colour scheme, with a soft blue gradient and darker blue accents.  I digitised some of Abi’s sketches and used them on a blue background in the footer for the site.

The footer includes contact information, a link to Abi’s social media sites and a link to her ready to wear collection on Etsy.

We discussed how to best showcase Abi’s work and from that, we came up with a number of categories, each with their own gallery page.

In keeping with the colour scheme and upmarket feel, each page has a full width eyecatching header, created by isolating a single image and overlaying a blue gradient.

This allows viewers can grasp very quickly what that page is about.

Abi’s photographs came from a number of different sources, including studio shots and professional wedding photoshoots (used with permission).  The differing styles, sizes, lighting etc, were pulled together with the use of a simple white frame and subtle drop shadow.
